What Tellura costs.
An account is free and most chapters are free to read. This page lists everything that is not free, what it costs in US dollars, and how cancellation and refunds work. The figures below are read from the same records that checkout charges from.
Coins
Coins are prepaid credit used to unlock premium chapters. They are bought in packs, priced in US dollars, and credited to your account as soon as payment completes. Coins are not money: they have no cash value, cannot be transferred to another account, and cannot be exchanged back into currency. The larger packs include bonus coins.

What a chapter costs
An author decides whether a chapter is free or premium. Tellura sets the coin price, calculated from the chapter's length on the scale below; authors do not choose the number of coins. Once you unlock a chapter it stays unlocked on your account for as long as the work remains on the service.

Novel subscriptions
A subscription is to a single novel, not to the site. It gives you early access to chapters the author has already written ahead of the public release point, as many as the tier you choose. Subscriptions are charged in US dollars and renew automatically until you cancel. Not every novel offers every tier: an author can only offer a tier they have enough chapters banked to fill.

Cancellation and refunds
Coin purchases are final. At checkout you are asked to confirm that you want your coins made available immediately and that doing so ends your right to withdraw from that purchase. Coins are not refundable once credited, except where the law requires otherwise.
You can cancel a subscription at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it is not retroactive, and there is no partial refund for the remainder of a period already paid for. Your access continues until that period ends.
If you were charged in error, or you believe a purchase should be refunded, write to legal@tellura.ink and the request will be reviewed individually. Card disputes and chargebacks are handled through Stripe's dispute process.
Who you are buying from
Tellura is a service of Septem Montes, Inc., a Delaware corporation. Your purchase is from Septem Montes, Inc. Card payments are processed by Stripe; Tellura does not store card numbers. Authors who publish on Tellura license their work to us and are paid a share of revenue, so they are not sellers on the service and readers do not transact with them directly.
