Chapter 20 — Student Benefits

Ren walked toward the reception counter.

"Hello. How may I help you?" the receptionist asked politely.

"Hello. I'm a new student and would like to check in."

"Just a moment, sir. Could you give me your student ID?"

Ren gave him his student ID.

The receptionist entered the information into the system.

A moment later, a notification appeared on Ren's magic phone.

Ren opened it and downloaded the application.

"Sir, all new students receive a space ring upon arrival."

The receptionist took out a ring and handed it to Ren.

Ren was already familiar with space rings.

He took the ring and manipulated his soul, something he could now do after awakening.

A moment later, he successfully bound the space ring to himself and placed it on his finger.

'It's a low-grade Tier 1 artifact.'

Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author.

The space ring was worth around 250,999 Astra.

The space inside wasn't particularly large, but it was more than enough for his current belongings.

If he ever needed more space, he could simply purchase another space ring or buy a higher-grade one.

'Only a university as wealthy as Aethelgard Grand University could afford to give every new student one of these.'

Other universities didn't have benefits like this.

"Sir, there's also a youth-preserving potion inside."

Ren had already noticed it when he checked the contents of the ring.

The youth-preserving potion was a Tier 1 Low-Grade potion worth around 300,999 Astra.

It didn't increase one's lifespan.

Instead, after drinking it, the potion would take effect when the person reached twenty years old. Their physical aging would stop, allowing them to maintain their appearance from their twenties until the day they died.

"Sir, as a new student, you've been assigned to Building 48, Apartment 53."

The apartment was provided by the university, so Ren didn't have to pay anything for it.

The same went for the space ring and the youth-preserving potion.

"Thanks. Then I'll be leaving."

Ren placed his luggage inside the space ring.

He then opened the map function on his magic phone and followed the directions toward his assigned building.

It didn't take long before he arrived.

Ren entered Building 48 and took the elevator to the appropriate floor.

He walked through the hallway until he reached Apartment 53.

Using the university's application, he scanned the door lock.

Click.

The door unlocked.

Ren stepped inside.

'It's pretty neat.'

The apartment wasn't anything fancy, but it was clean and comfortable.

It was just right for him.

Of course, if a student wasn't satisfied with the university-provided apartment, they could rent their own place.

The university also had villas available for rent.

Ren had no reason to waste money on unnecessary luxury.

He walked around the apartment, familiarizing himself with the place.

Once he was done, he took his belongings out of the space ring and arranged them around the apartment.

After that, Ren took out the youth-preserving potion.

He opened the bottle and drank it.

There was no reason for him to save it.

He couldn't sell it because doing so was against the university's rules, and it wasn't worth risking getting caught just to make some extra money.

Besides, his appearance mattered as well.

People naturally noticed someone's face first.

Ren considered himself fairly handsome.

Of course, he wouldn't say the same about everyone else.

Beauty was subjective.

What people considered attractive differed depending on the culture, location, environment, and most importantly, the time period.

A face considered handsome in the present could have been considered unattractive in the past.

There was no such thing as an absolutely perfect face.

Ren finished the potion and placed the empty bottle into the trash bin.

Once he had accumulated enough trash, he could simply place it outside his door, and someone would come to collect it.

Ren looked around his new apartment.

'Well, I'm finally settled in.'
