Chapter 32 — The Regional Wall

After a month of continuous travel, Li Tianyu finally slowed down.

He had been using a killer move to continuously fly through the sky, pushing himself to his limits without stopping.

While flying, Li Tianyu activated various expendable Rank 4 Gu worms.

One after another, their effects spread throughout his body, erasing the tracking marks that had been left on him.

His Steady Fortune Gu emitted a faint aura.

The moment the aura stabilized, Li Tianyu knew that every tracking mark had been successfully removed.

Only then did he finally breathe a sigh of relief.

"Finally..."

He had escaped.

Somewhere far away, Fang Yuan, who had just slaughtered another city, was in the middle of refining another Immortal Gu.

Suddenly, he sensed it.

The tracking marks he had planted on Li Tianyu were disappearing one after another.

Fang Yuan's expression remained completely passive.

His hands continued moving as he refined the Gu worm, showing no outward reaction.

"Destiny Gu..."

A thought flashed through his mind.

Fang Yuan believed that Destiny Gu had intervened.

After all, he had originally planned to enslave Li Tianyu once the time was right. If Li Tianyu suddenly managed to erase all of his tracking methods, there was only one reasonable explanation in Fang Yuan's mind.

Destiny Gu had interfered.

Fang Yuan did not chase after him.

Before Destiny Gu was destroyed, blindly interfering with someone protected by destiny would not necessarily produce a favorable result.

Instead, it could even place himself in danger.

Therefore, Fang Yuan simply continued refining his Immortal Gu.

Li Tianyu understood this as well.

Here's a polished version that makes Li Tianyu's reasoning and his earlier decision to trust his luck Gu clearer:

A thought flashed through his mind.

Fang Yuan believed that Destiny Gu had intervened.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

In fact, it wasn't difficult for him to guess that Fang Yuan would reach this conclusion.

He had already observed Fang Yuan's attitude toward him.

If Fang Yuan had truly believed that Li Tianyu was merely an ordinary Gu Master with some unusual secrets, he could have killed him long ago and extracted those secrets by force.

Yet he hadn't.

Instead...

Fang Yuan had repeatedly cooperated with him.

He had even helped him.

Back then, Li Tianyu had noticed this contradiction.

He had trusted his Luck Gu's judgment and decided to take the gamble.

Now...

That gamble had given him another layer of protection.

Li Tianyu had deliberately left Fang Yuan with the possibility that Destiny Gu was protecting him.

It was an insurance policy.

As long as Fang Yuan believed that Destiny Gu was interfering on his behalf, he would be far less willing to recklessly use Wisdom Path methods to investigate or track him.

After all...

No matter how confident Fang Yuan was in his own methods, he wouldn't willingly provoke Destiny Gu without sufficient reason.

For Li Tianyu...

That was enough.

...

Half a year passed.

Currently, Li Tianyu stood before the regional wall.

During these six months, Southern Border had descended into complete chaos.

City after city had been slaughtered.

Village after village had been destroyed.

It no longer mattered whether they were humans or variant humans.

Both were dying in enormous numbers.

Wars between Gu Immortals from both races continued to erupt across Southern Border.

But things had not always been like this.

Previously, the conflict between humans and variant humans had mostly been fought by mortal Gu Masters.

The Gu Immortals of both sides rarely fought seriously.

In fact, many of the human and variant human Gu Immortals actually got along quite well with one another.

The apparent war between the two races had largely been deliberately created by the Gu Immortals themselves.

They wanted to create a sense of unity within their respective races.

There was another reason as well.

Conflict and death increased the chances of Lifespan Gu naturally spawning.

And Lifespan Gu was something that every Gu Immortal coveted.

At least, that had been the situation in the past.

Then Fang Yuan and the other Venerable reincarnations began rising to power.

Chaos spread everywhere.

These reincarnated Venerables repeatedly manipulated situations, framed members of both races, and deliberately intensified the hatred between humans and variant humans.

Again and again.

Eventually, the accumulated hatred became too deep.

The Gu Immortals of both races could no longer simply pretend that the war was merely a performance.

They were forced to actually fight.

Meanwhile, the Venerable reincarnations profited from the chaos from the shadows.

Li Tianyu could only try his best to remain inconspicuous.

He traveled constantly.

Along the way, he secretly stole Gu worms from various beasts and accumulated resources whenever he found an opportunity.

At the same time, he continued cultivating.

After half a year of continuous effort, Li Tianyu had finally finished using his permanent enhancement-type Gu worms.

His body had now reached the level of a Hundred Beast King, while his soul had reached the level of a Hundred-Man Soul, equivalent to the soul strength of one hundred ordinary people.

With all these enhancements combined, Li Tianyu's physical strength and soul foundation had increased tremendously.

At his current level, he could already fight an ordinary Rank 3 Gu Master.

His killer move had also become more effective.

It now possessed approximately a 10% chance of stealing Rank 3 Gu worms.

Over the years, whenever his killer move successfully stole Rank 3 Gu worms from various sources—including wild beasts, humans, and variant humans—Li Tianyu would sell those Rank 3 Gu worms in human settlements.

He would then exchange the proceeds for Rank 2 Gu worms.

Meanwhile, he had the Burning Ember Gu devour the Rank 2 Gu worms.

Through this method, Li Tianyu had managed to accumulate a total of 53,145 Rank 2 Dao fragments.

It was still a very low amount compared to what he ultimately needed.

But there was nothing he could do.

He also needed to cultivate.

And if he became too conspicuous, a Gu Immortal could kill him with a single move.

Especially now.

Gu Immortals were fighting everywhere.

Battles between immortals swept across Southern Border, slaughtering everything caught in their path.

Countless mortal clans had already perished.

Entire settlements had disappeared overnight.

Li Tianyu had no desire to become another casualty.

Therefore, he continued to remain hidden.

And now...

He stood before the regional wall.

The enormous barrier stretched across the horizon, separating Southern Border from the region beyond.

In front of him, countless Gu Masters were attempting to flee Southern Border.

Some traveled alone.

Others traveled in groups.

Some carried their families and belongings.

Others had nothing left except their lives.

Everyone was trying to escape the chaos engulfing Southern Border.

Li Tianyu silently watched the scene.

His expression gradually became solemn.

The regional wall...

He had finally reached it.
