Chapter 28 — A New Foundation
Currently...
Fang Yuan and Li Tianyu were walking through a bustling city.
The streets were crowded with Gu Masters and mortals.
Various shops lined both sides of the road, while servants carried goods back and forth beneath the watchful eyes of their masters.
As the two walked through the crowd, fragments of conversation reached their ears.
"Did you hear?"
"About what?"
"Someone completely looted seven Gu villages!"
"Seven?!"
"That's right! Their Gu Treasuries, Resource Treasuries, even inheritances were robbed!"
"Who could possibly do something like that?"
"No one knows. The clans have already increased their security everywhere."
Li Tianyu's eyes flickered.
The news had finally spread this far.
Beside him, Fang Yuan remained completely calm.
After walking for a while, Fang Yuan suddenly spoke.
"You can continue exploring on your own."
Li Tianyu turned toward him.
"I'll find you in a month."
Before Li Tianyu could say anything else...
Fang Yuan's figure gradually disappeared into the crowd.
By the time Li Tianyu looked again...
There was no trace of him.
Li Tianyu wasn't surprised.
Fang Yuan's concealment methods were simply too profound.
Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings.
He turned around and continued walking.
His immediate priority...
Was dealing with the enormous number of Rank One Gu worms he had accumulated.
---
Li Tianyu soon arrived at a Resource Hall.
He didn't hesitate.
All of the Rank One Gu worms he had deliberately preserved were taken out.
There were no particularly valuable Gu among them.
Keeping them alive would only consume resources.
Rather than letting them occupy space in his aperture...
He exchanged them.
One after another...
The Rank One Gu worms were converted into refinement materials, Gu food, and other useful resources.
After completing the exchange...
Li Tianyu rented a secluded room.
He then began refining.
The first Gu worm he refined...
Was the most important.
"Burning Lotus Gu."
Crimson flames gathered around Li Tianyu.
The refinement process began.
This was the Rank Two version he had recently deduced.
The process was considerably more complicated than refining the Rank One version.
But Li Tianyu already possessed the complete refinement knowledge.
Every step.
Every material.
Every possible variation.
Everything was firmly engraved within his mind.
Time passed.
Eventually...
A crimson lotus slowly formed within the flames.
The aura of a Rank Two Gu worm spread through the room.
Rank Two—
Burning Lotus Gu.
Li Tianyu smiled faintly.
With Burning Lotus Gu upgraded...
His primeval essence recovery ability would improve considerably.
That would make the remaining refinements much easier.
He immediately began refining the next Gu.
One after another...
His Gu worms were upgraded.
Burning Snatch Gu.
Flame Gu.
Healing Ember Gu.
Steady Fortune Gu.
Each refinement required time and concentration.
There were failures.
There were minor deviations.
But with his extraordinary refinement attainment and the complete deductions provided by Burning Ember Gu...
The process remained manageable.
One Gu after another...
The Rank One Gu worms in his aperture were replaced by their Rank Two versions.
His foundation gradually transformed.
His combat system became increasingly complete.
Finally...
Only one remained.
Primordial Flame Seed Gu.
Li Tianyu's expression became solemn.
This refinement was different.
The Rank Two version—
Primordial Flame Embryo Gu—
was not something he could simply refine normally.
Instead...
He first needed to refine a special semi-Gu worm.
Li Tianyu arranged the refinement materials before him.
He carefully adjusted their positions before activating the refinement method.
Crimson flames slowly gathered around the materials.
The flames burned at a controlled temperature, gradually extracting their essence and fusing the materials together.
One material after another was consumed.
The flame fluctuated constantly as Li Tianyu made precise adjustments.
Several hours later...
The refinement finally reached its final stage.
The remaining essence condensed into a strange, incomplete Gu-shaped object.
It resembled a Gu worm...
But lacked the complete structure of a true Gu.
A semi-Gu worm.
Li Tianyu carefully examined it.
Then...
He activated the next step of the refinement method.
The semi-Gu worm trembled slightly before transforming into a stream of crimson light.
It entered Li Tianyu's body.
At the same moment...
His Primordial Flame Seed Gu reacted violently.
Crimson flames erupted from within his aperture.
The semi-Gu worm's essence rapidly spread through the Primordial Flame Seed Gu.
The two began to merge.
Li Tianyu immediately focused his mind.
He carefully controlled the process, preventing the unstable energy from disrupting the Gu worm's structure.
The Primordial Flame Seed Gu trembled more and more violently.
Its Rank One aura began to fluctuate.
Then...
A faint crack appeared across its surface.
The Rank One aura rapidly intensified.
The semi-Gu worm's remaining essence was completely absorbed.
The transformation had begun.
A faint pressure spread through the room.
Li Tianyu's eyes remained closed.
He carefully controlled the process.
The semi-Gu worm gradually disappeared.
Its essence merged into the Primordial Flame Seed Gu.
The Rank One aura became increasingly powerful.
Then...
Boom!
A wave of crimson flames erupted from Li Tianyu's body.
The Primordial Flame Seed Gu's aura suddenly changed.
Rank Two.
The transformation was complete.
Li Tianyu opened his eyes.
Then...
A faint smile appeared on his face.
After two weeks of continuous refinement...
All of his primary Gu worms had finally been upgraded.
His Rank One foundation...
Had completely transformed into a Rank Two foundation.
And this...
Was only the beginning.
