Chapter 38 — The Hidden Mage ( Part 2 )

"Yeah. It's those three from the restaurant."

Ren had already noticed them.

"Come on. Let's bait them into that alley."

The two deliberately turned into a dark, narrow alley.

They continued walking until they reached a dead end.

Lyra turned around.

"Alright, stop following us and come out. We know you're there."

Several seconds of silence followed.

The three people had apparently believed that Ren and Lyra were bluffing.

But when they noticed the two staring directly toward their positions, they realized their invisibility spell had been detected.

They finally deactivated their spells and appeared.

"Oh? Looks like you two youngsters actually sensed us."

The leader of the group sneered as he cast a soundproofing spell around the alley.

"But why didn't you run? Shouldn't you be calling for help?"

He stepped closer, looking the two of them over.

"Well, well, well. Look how good-looking you two are. One extremely handsome and one extremely beautiful. Quite the couple."

He gave a lecherous grin.

"But you two probably aren't satisfied with each other."

"How about we help you?"

"Yeah, boss," one of the men said. "Leave that handsome guy to me."

"Why don't you both come with us?" another added. "We'll make sure you're satisfied every day from now on."

'So much nonsense.'

Ren calmly began preparing several spells.

The men's vulgar remarks continued.

"We're going to enjoy breaking you two..."

Their words suddenly stopped.

All three men became completely immobilized.

They couldn't move a single muscle.

They couldn't even speak.

Several spells had already taken effect on their bodies, restricting their movements and silencing them before they could react.

"Sir Hero Ren, leave them to me."

Lyra's voice was calm.

But the anger on her face was unmistakable.

"Alright."

Ren stepped aside.

Lyra cast another soundproofing spell over the area.

A magic circle appeared beneath the three immobilized men.

Then flames erupted.

The three men were immediately engulfed.

Their threats against Ren had crossed the line for Lyra.

All of her usual gentleness disappeared.

For more than ten minutes, the flames continued burning until the three men were reduced to ashes.

When the flames finally disappeared, Lyra stood silently before the remains.

The anger that had consumed her gradually faded.

Only then did she fully realize what she had done.

Her face turned pale.

Yet she didn't regret it.

She turned around and walked toward Ren before wrapping her arms around him.

"I love you so much, Ren."

"I know."

Ren gently rubbed her head until she calmed down.

Once Lyra had steadied herself, Ren used Blink to take them out of the town.

They returned to their concealed carriage and continued traveling.

Inside the carriage, Ren continued training while Lyra remained beside him.

Several hours later, they arrived at another town.

They found a restaurant, ate a meal, and then booked a room at a nearby inn.

After entering the room, Lyra sat down and cast a spell on herself.

Ren glanced at her briefly before returning to his training.

Women in this world naturally experienced menstruation.

For ordinary women, it was simply a normal part of life that they dealt with through conventional methods.

Mages, however, could use magic to manage the physical effects of their menstrual cycles.

With sufficient control over their bodies and mana, they could regulate the process and minimize the discomfort associated with it.

Lyra's period was due within the next few days, so she was simply preparing herself in advance.

Ren only glanced at the spell before returning his attention to his training.
