Chapter 21 — A Hundred Spells ( Part 2 )
"Alright, Lyra. Don't be surprised."
He grabbed her hand.
Then he cast Blink.
Their bodies disappeared.
A hundred meters away, they reappeared.
Before they could even take another step, Ren cast Blink again.
They disappeared.
Another hundred meters.
Again.
And again.
Ren continued casting Blink repeatedly, each cast carrying them another hundred meters forward.
His casting speed was so fast that the people nearby couldn't properly register what was happening.
To anyone who happened to look in their direction, Ren and Lyra simply vanished.
A few people noticed them disappear the first time, but most assumed they had merely imagined it.
Within a few minutes, they had traveled a considerable distance and arrived deep inside a forest.
A dark cave stood before them.
Lyra looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings before turning toward Ren excitedly.
"Sir Hero Ren, how did you do that?"
"Oh, it's just the Blink spell. I was simply casting it continuously."
"That's so amazing!"
Lyra looked at him with genuine admiration.
Before Ren could respond, raspy laughter suddenly echoed through the forest.
"Keh keh keh..."

Goblin voices.
Lyra's eyes widened.
"Wah!"
Ren immediately picked her up in a princess carry and cast Flight.
Their bodies rose above the forest canopy.
Ren looked down at the area below.
One magic circle appeared.
Then two.
Four.
Ten.
Twenty.
Fifty.
A hundred.
More and more magic circles appeared beneath them, eventually filling the sky.
Lyra stared in shock.
The next moment—
BOOM!
An explosion tore through the forest.
Then another.
And another.
Fire spears rained down from above.
Beams of light pierced the ground.
Wind blades ripped through the trees.
Water swords crashed down upon the goblin settlement.
Spell after spell continued raining down.
The entire area was engulfed in magical destruction.
An ordinary Rank 1 mage could generally maintain only one or two spells at a time.
Ren was controlling hundreds.
Calling it monstrous wasn't enough.
Lyra could only stare with her mouth open as the bombardment continued.
When Ren finally stopped, the forest below had been transformed into a wasteland.
Trees had been shattered into countless splinters.
The ground was covered in craters.
The goblin settlement had been completely destroyed.
Even the corpses were difficult to recognize beneath the devastation.
A moment later, Lyra finally recovered from her shock.
"You are so amazing, Sir Hero Ren."
Her eyes were filled with deep admiration as she looked at him.
Ren smiled.
'To have this much power after only a few days of training...'
As expected, it was the combination of his SSS-grade talent and the energy he had accumulated through the Spell of Corruption.
His talent gave him an extraordinarily high mana regeneration rate, allowing him to continuously cast spells at a pace ordinary mages couldn't even imagine.
It was also the reason he could simply spam Blink, relying on his extremely high mana regeneration to replenish the mana he consumed.
"Alright. Don't be surprised yet."
Ren looked toward Lyra.
"I'll show you something even better."
He carried her higher into the sky.
Magic circles began appearing in front of him.
This time, however, they didn't spread across the area.
They appeared directly behind one another.
One layer.
Then another.
Then another.
Dozens became fifty.
Fifty became a hundred.
More than a hundred magic circles were eventually stacked together.
Ren was using a simple principle.
Quantity could produce quality.
By stacking hundreds of identical spell formations together, he could force their combined power to undergo a qualitative change.
Normally, such a technique would be extremely difficult.
Maintaining that many spell formations simultaneously required enormous control and mana.
But Ren's SSS-grade talent made the process far easier, while his extremely high mana regeneration allowed him to sustain the enormous expenditure.
He was essentially displaying Rank 2 combat power while remaining a Rank 1 mage.
Ren pointed toward the cave.
"Light Cannon."
Huuuk!
Pewww!
Sizzle!
A massive pillar of light descended from the stacked magic circles.
It struck the mountain where the cave was located.
BOOOOOOOM!
The mountain shook violently.
A tremendous explosion erupted as the force of the attack tore through the stone.
Then the mountain collapsed.
A massive cloud of smoke and dust rose into the sky as a shockwave blasted outward through the forest.
Ren immediately cast a shield around himself and Lyra, blocking the incoming debris.
He stared calmly at the destruction below.
Lyra's mouth opened again.
She was completely stunned.
Ren cast a wind spell, sweeping away the thick cloud of dust.
He then descended and landed on the ground.
A few dozen magic circles appeared around him.
Using Telekinesis, Ren pulled the crushed goblin corpses from beneath the rubble.
Their bodies were mangled and barely recognizable.
"Restoration."
A wave of magic spread across the corpses.
Their damaged bodies began repairing themselves, broken bones and crushed flesh returning to their original forms.
Once they had been restored enough to identify, Ren used Telekinesis to cut off their ears.
He stored the ears inside his Storage Mark before throwing the corpses aside.
Ren turned toward Lyra and smiled.
"How was that? Are you shocked?"
Lyra nodded vigorously like a little chick.
She was far too shocked to respond properly.
Ren lowered her gently to the ground.
"Alright, let's go."
He grabbed her hand.
Then he cast Blink.
The two disappeared from the forest.
